He was also named to the Sun Sentinel All-County First Team in Broward in his junior and senior seasons and the All-American Second Team in 2017 by MaxPreps. Across all major recruiting services, Pat was tabbed as the number one cornerback of the 2018 class and was ranked as high as the No. 5 overall player in the country (ESPN). In February of 2018, Pat officially accepted his offer from Alabama to join the Crimson Tide.

As a freshman, Pat wasted no time in making his abilities known as he played in all 15 games that season and finished with 37 total tackles, including 1.5 for loss, an interception, seven passes defended and a forced fumble.

He would later be selected to the All-SEC Freshman Team as the Crimson Tide won their 30th SEC championship and appeared in the national title game. Between 2019 and 2020, Pat started in 25 consecutive games and combined for 79 tackles, including 4.5 for loss, three interceptions, 17 passes defended, a touchdown, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. In 2020 Pat helped Alabama win its 18th national title and was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player in the CFB Semifinal against Notre Dame in which he picked up three tackles, including 0.5 for loss, and one pass breakup. On the season, he was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and was a consensus All-America selection.

After declaring for the draft following his junior year, Pat was drafted with ninth overall pick by the Denver Broncos in the 2021 NFL Draft. He made an immediate impact for Denver as he started in 15 of 16 games and finished the year with four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, 14 passes defended and 58 tackles, including one for loss. Amongst all rookies, Pat posted the most interceptions and passes defended.

With year two right around the corner, Pat is geared up to reach new heights as a defensive back and help lead the Broncos to a championship.
